Terms of Service
Last updated: July 27, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Exersets (“we”, “our”, or “us”), a strength training app for lifters and the coaches who train them. By creating an account or using Exersets, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The service
Exersets lets you log your training — exercises, sets, reps, weight — and track your progress over time. Logging your own training is free.
A paid Coach plan adds the coaching side: inviting clients to your practice, assigning programs, reviewing their sessions, messaging them, and reading their weekly check-ins. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time with reasonable notice.
2. Training carries risk — and we are not your doctor
Exersets does not provide medical advice. Nothing in the app — including programs, suggested weights, progress estimates, or feedback from a coach — is medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Estimated one-rep maxes and similar figures are calculations from numbers you entered, not a judgement about what is safe for you.
Talk to a qualified medical professional before starting or changing a training programme, especially if you have an injury, a health condition, or are pregnant. If something hurts, stop.
You lift at your own risk. Resistance training can cause serious injury. You are responsible for your own technique, equipment, loading, and judgement, and you assume the risks of training. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release us from liability for any injury, illness, or loss arising from training you do while using Exersets.
3. Coaching is between you and your coach
Exersets is software. We are not a party to the coaching relationship, we do not employ or supervise coaches, and we do not vet their qualifications, licences, insurance, or competence. Programs and advice come from your coach, not from us.
Any dispute — about advice, results, conduct, or money paid directly to a coach — is between you and them. Coaches are responsible for holding whatever qualifications and insurance their jurisdiction requires, and for handling client health information lawfully.
If you are a client, you decide what to share. Accepting an invitation to a practice gives that coach access to your training log and check-ins, as described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Your account
You must be at least 18 years old and a legal resident of the United States to use Exersets. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@exersets.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
You may not share your account with others or create accounts using false information.
5. Subscription and billing
Logging your own training is free and does not require a card. The Coach plan is a paid subscription — by subscribing you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on your plan).
Free trial. New Coach plans receive a 14-day free trial. You will not be charged until the trial ends, and you may cancel at any time during it without charge.
Cancellation. You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep full coaching access until then. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.
What happens after. Cancelling switches off the coaching features. Your account, your own training log, and your clients’ own logs remain intact.
Price changes. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice before changing subscription prices. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new price.
All payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing you also agree to Stripe’s terms.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Exersets for any unlawful purpose or to facilitate illegal activity
- Promote or supply performance-enhancing drugs or other controlled substances through the service
- Harass, bully, or send unwanted messages to other users, including your own clients
- Post content that is abusive, hateful, sexually explicit, or targets someone’s body or weight
- Export, sell, or otherwise misuse the personal or health information of clients you coach
- Upload or transmit malware, viruses, or harmful code
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service or its infrastructure
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the service
- Resell or sublicense access to Exersets without our written permission
- Impersonate another person, coach, or business
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without notice or refund.
7. Your content and data
You own the data you create in Exersets — your workouts, programs, notes, photos, and check-ins. You grant us a limited license to store and process that data solely to provide the service, including showing it to a coach you have joined.
We do not claim ownership of anything you upload. We will not use your training or health data for advertising, and we will not sell it.
Be aware that some things are visible to others by design: your profile and sessions can appear to other lifters, and uploaded images are stored on public URLs. Our Privacy Policy sets out exactly who can see what.
8. Data export and deletion
You can request a copy of your data at any time by contacting us, and we will provide it. If you delete your account, we retain your data for 90 days in case you wish to reactivate, after which it is permanently deleted. You may request immediate deletion by contacting us.
9. Availability and uptime
We aim to keep Exersets available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform scheduled maintenance with advance notice. We are not liable for losses caused by downtime, data loss, or service interruptions — keep your own record of anything you cannot afford to lose.
10. Intellectual property
Exersets and its underlying software, design, and content are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or proprietary technology beyond what is needed to use the service.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
Exersets is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, that any defects will be corrected, or that any training approach available through it will produce a particular result.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Exersets and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of data, revenue, or profits, or any injury arising from training. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Exersets and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any third party’s rights, or — if you coach through the platform — from the coaching advice you give.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the state in which Exersets is registered. You waive any objection to jurisdiction or venue in those courts.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
